Our Story

In November of 2005, Phil and I opened an in-home, known as Cradles 2 Crayons. Through the years we were blessed to have a full house of children, forming lasting relationships. To maintain a space worthy of a child was our mission, leading us to the question; can we do better. The answer was, YES! On September 4, 2012, Phil and I opened the doors to Four Square, a program where we recognize, acknowledge, and build on each child’s special strengths every day.

I understand children, yet every day I am in awe at the valuable life lessons they teach me. To be a child is to know the joy of living. To know love. Through them, I’m learning how to live more authentically and love deeper. I am constantly reminded of the simplest joys and blessings hidden in each day. I have one child, in particular, to thank. My angel, Madison Marie. During her 4 year fight with leukemia, she never lost authenticity, never stopped loving, never stopped finding happiness. Now, anytime you see glitter, you’re seeing Maddie. Maybe one day you’ll stumble upon some, think of my angel Madison, and be inspired to SMILE.

Together with my team, we are fiercely determined to ensure that every day we offer a space for a child to feel safe, loved, accepted and nurtured, because every day with these children is a gift. We are thankful for the opportunity, finding excitement in our chance to help them grow into the person they will be tomorrow. Together with your partnership, we can send children into the community who have the ability to positively function in a group, spreading laughter, kindness and love. We are Four Square. We are family.
